Splatters Art Studio was born out of a desire to support young artists all over Victoria. Amy has been working with children for the past 14 years and being a mom herself, has watched her own children experience this incredible sense of accomplishment with art and the sense of pride it instills in them. Their imaginations open up and it creates this endless thought of what can I do next! When you have a small group of children who can not only socialize and make new friends, but also expand their imaginations as a group together, it creates this wonderful environment which increases their confidence and creativity.
Mister Mojo (Morien Jones) is an award winning singer/songwriter and performer who lives in beautiful Victoria, Canada.
His fun and catchy songs are enjoyed by families the world over: from Nova Scotia to New Zealand, from Scotland to San Francisco. Kids and adults alike love to sing and dance along to his entertaining performances.
Twelve years ago, Inspired by his own three children, Morien found himself writing the occasional silly kid song (Seneca the Squirrel, Jump on the Bed). In 2011, he entered a song writing contest put on by BearAware BC. His song about the misadventures of a garbage loving bear, ‘Dirty Old Bear’, won third prize. Since then, his music career for children has blossomed. Morien received a grant in 2012 to record his debut CD for children titled ‘Mister Mojo’.
He has since performed for kids at festivals, markets, theaters, schools and special events throughout Western Canada including two performances at the Kaslo Jazz Etc Festival in 2014. That same year he was selected by the Kootenay Library Federation to be the children’s performer for their annual Summer Reading Club. What followed was a successful tour of 12 cities in the East/West Kootenay and Boundary regions of BC. In 2016 he toured libraries in Saskatoon and northern Saskatchewan (and had the best slice of pizza in his life). Then in 2017 he toured Calgary as well as Regina, performing for their Summer Reading Club.
Mister Mojo has just released his second CD for kids titled Mr Mojo Strikes Again! and is currently recording his third full length CD. He also writes and produces more music at morienjones.ca
