Building Your Toolbox is all about learning practical skills and techniques to level up your improv and give yourself the confidence to perform for an audience! Whether you’re a just-for-fun improviser or you’re interested in making improv your career, this workshop will give you the foundation to start cracking the code of fun and entertaining scenes and electric stage presence! Paired with a live performance on day two, this workshop will give you the chance to learn how to build the world of your scene, develop loveable characters, and keep the energy alive all the way to the end of the scene! Great for all skill levels to come develop their technique in a supportive and inclusive environment.

This workshop is divided into two separate days:

Day One: Foundations of Improvised Scene Work

Day Two: Advanced Improvised Scene Work & Performance Skills + A LIVE Performance!

Participants are encouraged to invite their friends and family to watch a 30-45 Minute performance to show off their skills!

Kaylee has a background in theatre acting, with a degree in performance from UVic. She has been doing improv for over 10 years, performing, teaching and constantly learning. She has studied and performed at Paper Street Improv, UCB Los Angeles, Ok, Dope Comedy and Garden City Improv. She has also founded and performed with 3 local improv troupes which have performed across Vancouver Island. Kaylee’s passion for improv knows no bounds, and she has made it her mission to gain experience in many types of improv, and share it with others who share her desire to make great scenes!

Mini Adventures is a dynamic creative play based program where a parent, guardian or caregiver participates alongside the kids in their life. This energetic class will delight young ones and adults alike with playful songs, movement explorations and stories designed specifically for the youngest theatre lovers. This program is a perfect way for adults to join in on the fun and explore the wonderful world of theatre with their young artists. Limit of 1 adult per child in the classroom.

This introductory improvisation class fosters creativity, teamwork, and confidence on stage. Students will explore the basics of improvisation, focusing on imaginative play, active listening, and collaboration, building a foundation for expressive and spontaneous storytelling.

A fun and encouraging introduction to acting where students will develop their imagination through engaging drama games, storytelling, and creative play. Young actors will begin learning the foundations of character building and voice work to support their creative ideas on stage.

Experience the magic and fun of musical theatre in this exciting new half-day camp for young theatre lovers! Explore the world of musical theatre through interactive theatre games, guided storytelling, movement and music. Share what you’ve learned with a final sharing for family and friends at the end of the week. This program is a great introduction to musical theatre.

Aimed at young artists with a passion for singing, dancing, and acting, Kaleidoscope’s Pro-D-Day Musical Theatre Camps are action-packed, fun-filled days of Musical Theatre exploration! These one day intensive Pro-d-day camps are designed for kids passionate about performing with an emphasis on all aspects of musical theatre, including dance, vocal performance, acting and performance skills. Each Pro-d-day camp explores script work, original play creation, fun songs, energetic dances, and lots of fun!
