School Matinee Prices

Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People offers specially subsidized tickets for school groups of 10 or more to attend weekday performances that are specifically designated as school matinees. School groups receive our best available pricing! Teachers and students are priced at the same rate, with savings of $19 on adult tickets and $10 on children's tickets compared to regular ticket prices. Regular School Matinee tickets are $13 each (not inc. tax). For every 20 seats booked, receive a free ticket!

School Matinee Booking Policies

• To receive school matinee pricing, groups attending must be 10 people or more. Tickets must be purchased for all people attending in the group, including adults.

• You can adjust the number of seats in your booking at any time up to 2 weeks prior to the performance date, however, no more than 50% of the initial invoice can be refunded. Additional seats are subject to availability.

• All invoices are required to be paid in full 2 weeks before the performance date. Outstanding payments may incur a 5% penalty.

• If Students are absent on the day of the show, Kaleidoscope will credit your account up to a maximum of five (5) seats per performance. Credits will be held on your account and are valid for one year.

1. SUBMIT
Complete an online booking request and let us know the show/date/time you’re interested in, as well as an (approximate) number of seats needed, and any access needs your group has. We will contact you within 2-3 business days with confirmation and an invoice. Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions or would like to inquire about specific availability of popular shows.
2. CONFIRM
An invoice and booking confirmation will be send upon successful booking. Once a booking has been processed, the booking is binding and all policies are in effect.

3. Pay
All orders must be paid in full 2 weeks prior to your selected performance date. Payments can be made by cheque, Visa or MasterCard. Cheques can be made payable to "Kaleidoscope Theatre"

4. Adjust
You can adjust the number of seats in your booking at any time up to 2 weeks prior to the performance date, however, no more than 50% of the initial invoice can be refunded. Additional seats are subject to availability.

5. Tickets
There are no physical tickets given out for school matinee performances. Groups should arrive together at the theatre and will be seated as a group. If you have any special seating requests due to accessibility and other circumstances, please ensure that these are communicated in advance to the KTYP team. We may be unable to accommodate requests on the day of the performance.

We welcome groups from public and independent schools, as well as homeschool groups. Contact our Education & Outreach Team at 250-383-8124 for more information. School groups require a minimum of 10 seats booked.

All individuals attending must purchase a seat, including teachers, aides, chaperones, and children of all ages.

KTYP is please to provide one (1) complimentary supervisor ticket for every twenty (20) student tickets purchased (maximum 10 FREE tickets). These free tickets will be factored into your invoice after booking.

Upon making your reservation, you will receive an invoice specifying the performance(s) you have booked, the number of tickets booked, and the amount due with the due date.

Payments for all seats must be paid two weeks prior to the performance date. Payments can be made by cheque, Visa, or Mastercard. Cheques can be made payable to Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People.
Late and Outstanding payments may result in a 5% penalty.

Additional seats are subject to availability. Students who are absent the day of the show will receive a ticket voucher for another performance of the same production. Tickets are subject to availability.

(Please note we no longer offer the absent student credit in lieu of absent students)

The teacher who initiated the booking must make any changes to the order, which needs to be made directly to a KTYP staff member responsible for Education Performance bookings.

Ticket decreases must be made no less than 2 weeks before the date of your performance. We will not accept reductions in numbers after this time and the school or individual who made the booking is responsible for providing payment for the number of tickets reflected on the invoice.

Eduction Performances offer “festival seating”, so no individual seat tickets will be issued. When you arrive at the theatre, please assemble your group in an orderly fashion outside the theatre. The Education Director and Front of House Manager will be on the premises to greet you. Please check in with the Education Director and be prepared to provide a complete count of the number of people in your party who will be in attendance, including adults and children. Your group will be seated together, unless there are special circumstances that require members of your party to be seated in specific locations (near the front, on an aisle, near and exit row). Please ensure to list any accessibility needs at the time of booking, or prior to the performance.

If this is your first order with us click “Forgot Password” and request a password reset using the email you used when booking your tickets. You will be sent a password reset link. Once logged in you will be able to see your active bookings, make payments, and download invoices / receipts.
