About the Show

When Prince Hamlet is visited by the ghost of his father and charged with avenging his murder, he is drawn into a dangerous world of secrets, betrayal, and revenge. As Hamlet searches for the truth, he begins to question everyone—and everything—around him. Hamlet is Shakespeare’s gripping tragedy of family, loyalty, madness, and the deadly consequences of revenge.

  • Running Time: ~60 Minutes with NO Intermission
  • Audience Advisory: This production takes place outdoors. Please dress for the weather. Audiences are encouraged to bring their own lawnchairs. Seating is not provided.

About the Program

Kaleidoscope Theatre's Performing Arts Studio's Teen Shakespeare program offers an exceptional opportunity for young people passionate about theatre and the performing arts. This program is designed to help teenagers learn, grow, and hone their skills as performers in a supportive and creative environment. Open to teens aged 13 to 18, the program runs for two weeks each summer. Participants work with Kaleidoscope's distinguished team of directors, acting coaches, and Shakespearean experts, immersing themselves in the world of Shakespearean theatre. Throughout the program, participants delve into the intricacies of Shakespeare's works, learning about acting, voice, and movement. The program culminates in a fully-staged Shakespeare production, allowing participants to showcase their newly acquired skills and talents to family, friends, and the community. This performance is a highlight of the program, eagerly anticipated by both participants and audiences.

In addition to mastering Shakespearean theatre, participants in the Teen Shakespeare program benefit from valuable social and personal development opportunities. Working together as part of a creative team, they learn collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills that are invaluable in all areas of life. Kaleidoscope Theatre's Teen Shakespeare program is an outstanding opportunity for teenagers interested in Shakespeare and theatre to learn, grow, and develop their skills in a nurturing and imaginative environment. With experienced instructors, a fully-staged production, and opportunities for personal growth, this program is an excellent choice for any young person who loves the performing arts. Past productions include Twelfth Night (2021), Macbeth (2022), As You Like It (2023), Julius Caesar (2024), and Much Ado About Nothing (2025).
