Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People's success in producing high-quality and meaningful work for children and their families is due in no small part to the remarkable staff that makes up the organization. The team at Kaleidoscope is a diverse and dedicated group of theatre artists, makers, youth arts educators, and administrators who share a common passion for creating and promoting exceptional theatre experiences for young people.

Pat Rundell
Executive & Artistic DirectorPat Rundell (he/him) is a multi-disciplinary award winning artist, theatre director, actor, educator, and arts leader. As the Executive & Artistic Director of Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People, he brings a visionary approach to storytelling, fostering bold, imaginative, and inclusive theatre experiences for young audiences.
Pat’s diverse career spans directing, performing, producing, and arts advocacy. For Kaleidoscope his directing credits include The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, The Addams Family, Singing in the Rain, and many more! As a performer, he has appeared on stages across Canada and the United States, from traditional theatres to outdoor festivals, historic sites, and even inside an inflatable igloo.
A passionate advocate for the arts, Pat has served as Co-Chair of the Theatre for Young Audiences Caucus for the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT) and continues to support the sector through his work on the association’s Board of Directors. Additionally, he is a board member of the Professional Arts Alliance of Greater Victoria and a proud member of the Canadian Actors’ Equity Association.
Pat believes in the transformative power of theatre to inspire, challenge, and connect communities, ensuring that young audiences have access to meaningful artistic experiences that ignite their imaginations.

Amanda Sayad
Director of Business & DevelopmentAmanda (she/her) joined Kaleidoscope Theatre in January 2024, bringing with her a wealth of experience from her previous roles at the Arts Club Theatre Company in Vancouver. Amanda’s academic credentials include a BFA in Theatre from the University of Victoria, a Certificate in Business Administration from Camosun College, and an Advanced Certificate in Arts & Entertainment Management from Capilano University. With six years of experience in arts administration, specializing in fundraising, events and marketing, Amanda is committed to fostering a vibrant arts community in Greater Victoria and give back to the community that started her love of theatre.

Shea O'Connor
Education DirectorShea is an actor, teaching artist and arts administrator originally from Mohkinstsis, (Calgary, AB). After graduating from the theatre program at the University of Victoria with a specialization in acting, she continued her training at Canada’s National Voice Intensive (now the Moving Voice Institute/MVI) in Toronto. She is now an Associate with the MVI and a founding member of the MVI Alumni Committee. Shea is passionate about theatre education for youth and was an Associate Instructor at Carousel Theatre for Young People, as well as a part of the Riotous Youth Internship Program at Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival before joining the faculty at Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People. In addition to teaching weekly classes and camp programs, Shea has co-directed the Kaleidoscope Young Company (2021) and created an exciting new program; the Teen Shakespeare Intensive. Performance credits include Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre, UVic Phoenix Theatre, Langham Court Theatre, Bragi Theatre and the UBC Brave New Playwrights Festival.

Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People is a charitable not-for-profit organization known as Kaleidoscope Theatre Productions Society. The Society is governed by a volunteer board of directors who passionately guide and support the society. The society is committed to the fulfillment of its mandate and mission and has assembled a strong and unique team able to reach those goals.

Yvette Guiguneo
Vice PresidentYvette Guigueno is director of development at Pacific Opera Victoria where she oversees philanthropic and corporate relationships. She previously spent five years at Royal Roads University leading the fundraising team. Yvette began her career in fundraising in 2007 at the Victoria Symphony and worked in audience development before settling into sponsorship management. Yvette is active in the community and sits as a board member for Kaleidoscope Theatre. She also works with youth as a skating coach. Yvette earned an M.B.A. in executive management from Royal Roads University and holds a CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive). Her heritage includes Kanaka (Hawaiian) and Stó:lõ ancestry.

Erica Kjekstad
TreasurerErica has loved dance, music, and the theatre since she owned The AlliHippoRhinoCrocoDilligator. Her years of performing in choirs, school musicals, and local theatre hold fond memories of inclusion, joy, and community, opportunities she is honoured to foster for the youth of Victoria as Treasurer of Kaleidoscope Theatre Productions Society. By day, Erica is a management consultant, with a practice focused on strategic operations, stakeholder engagement and organizational behaviour. After hours, she is a passionate member of the local field hockey community and enjoys spending time with her family.

Laura Silva
SecretaryLaura currently works for Provincial Government, for the past 36 years. Laura has been very active in the Vancouver Island community volunteering at the YMCA/YWCA of Vancouver Island, sporting events and theatre productions. Laura is a long time Board Member and is excited to be part of the Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People as they celebrate 50 years. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, long walks and spending time with family.

Donna Jones
DirectorDonna Jones is an investment professional with over 25 years experience in financial services, relationship management and investment management in the public and private sectors. She has guided clients’ investment decisions across a wide range of issues such as capital markets, investment performance, ESG, asset allocation and risk management. She served as President of the CFA Society Vancouver and CFA Society Victoria and leadership roles for over 10 years. CFA Institute leads the investment profession by promoting the highest standards for ethics, education and professional excellence. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis and spending time with her family.

James Murray
DirectorJames is a born-and-raised Victorian and currently acts as Vice President at Avison Young Victoria: a commercial real estate services firm specializing in sales and leasing for office, retail, industrial and multifamily properties throughout Vancouver Island.
Following his representation of Kaleidoscope Theatre in leasing their new facility/home at 613 Pandora Ave, James joined the board of directors in early 2023.
In his spare time, James is an enjoyer of art in all its forms and can likely be found enjoying a meal in one of Victoria’s many excellent restaurants, playing golf (poorly), or strumming away on his guitar at home.

Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People is one of BC's leading companies creating theatre for young audiences, currently producing and presenting a 3 play season and operating a theatre school that educates over 500 young people annually. Administratively housed in Victoria’s Old Town District, Kaleidoscope works throughout the Capital Region, entertaining and inspiring young people and their families.
