Welcome Alison

Please help us welcome Alison Roberts to our Teaching Faculty at Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People!

Alison has been training and performing in musical theatre and dance for over 25 years with over 45 shows on her resume. She is a graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts, Harbour Dance Centres Intensive Training Program, and the Banff/Citadel Professional Musical Theatre Program. Alison made her professional debut at 18 and has since performed across Canada with some of the countries top theatre companies. Some of her favourite credits include West Side Story (Vancouver Opera, Citadel Theatre, Rainbow Stage), Beauty and The Beast (The Arts Club Theatre), Spamalot (The Arts Club Theatre), Crazy For You (Theatre Calgary, Citadel Theatre), Mamma Mia! (Citadel Theatre), and Singin’ In The Rain (Capitol Theatre), singing with Kenny Rogers and Josh Groban at the Save On Foods Memorial Arena, and being a vocalist at The Butchart Gardens on their mainstage. Alison also has experience with the film industry working on projects such as The Waltz (Toronto International Short Film Festival), That Man (Winner of Dance Magazine Video of The Month), Underground Interlude, Disney’s Girl VS. Monster, and TLC Outrageous Births. Aside from performing, Alison has a deep passion for teaching and choreographing. Over the last few years, Alison has focused progressively more of her time on instruction and has been working with children of all ages, sharing her experiences in the industry and passing on the tools that helped her become successful. Alison has taught and choreographed for places such as VOS, Boston Dance, Oak Bay Secondary School, Comox Youth Music Centre, and The Canadian College of Performing Arts. For the last four years, she has also been instructing the summer theatre programs for Recreation Oak Bay, teaching hundreds of children the foundations of theatre and putting on new productions every week. Alison is thrilled to be pairing up with Kaleidoscope Theatre and gaining yet another opportunity to deeply connect, share her many passions, and introduce the wondrous world of theatre to all of her new students.

We are excited to welcome Alison back to Kaleidoscope. Alison was a member of the Kaleidoscope Young Company appearing onstage in The Hobbit (2002) and The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe (2003).

Welcome to the team.
