SEPTEMBER STUDIO NEWSLETTER
Published September 24, 2019
Welcome to your September Newsletter for Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People’s Performing Arts Studio. Thank you for being a part of our studio programming this term! If you are new to Kaleidoscope, Welcome, and if you are a returning family, Welcome back!
Classes have just begun, and we are so excited to have all our students singing, dancing and acting up a storm for the first time in our new studios at University Heights.
We look forward to seeing what all of our students tackle this term, and we hope you will join us at our many productions and events throughout the season.
Our monthly newsletters contain news about upcoming events, studio reminders, volunteer opportunities, important dates, and more.
Dress Code Reminder
A reminder that Kaleidoscope has a dress code that applies to all students taking classes. All students are required to wear “Industry Standard Black” to class every week. Black shirts and black pants.
When you wear all black to a theatre class it unites everyone in the group. It helps to depersonalize individuals, takes away the need to compete about what you wear, and helps to create a group bond. Wearing black gives you a “neutral blank slate” to build a character from. Plus its comfy.
Shoes do not need to be all black, but please come to class in clean closed toed shoes. As a working theatre company, there are often set pieces and furniture around, and we don’t want you to run into one of them and stub your toes. Ouch.
