Term One -  IMPROV & CHARACTER

Learn how to make stuff up on the spot and be funny!  Anyone can do improv comedy once you learn the secrets.  Students with previous improv experience will benefit from reviewing the basics, and everyone will get to learn and perform a lot of Theatresports-style games. Students will also learn how to create and play original comedy characters. High energy fun!

Term Two – COMEDY TROUPE!

In Term Two the class dips into some dramatic scenes and monologues – because the flipside of comedy is tragedy.  Then the class becomes the Kaleidoscope Comedy Troupe (only with a much cooler name). Students will continue playing improv games and exercises, then learn how to write and perform sketch comedy (like Saturday Night Live or Flight of the Conchords) . Students will also learn how to write jokes and perform stand-up comedy! At the end of the year the troupe will create and star in their very own original comedy showcase for friends and family.
