KPAS Faculty

Roderick Glanville (Studio Principal) has been with our studio since KPAS was formed.  He brings over 25 years of performance and directing experience to our young people.  He has worked across the country with The Stephenville Festival in NFLD, Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia, Lorraine Kisma Theatre in Toronto, Manitoba’s Theatre for Young People in Winnipeg, Bard on the Beach in Vancouver, and over 20 years for Kaleidoscope as actor and director.  Roderick uses a blend of classical and contemporary scripts to excite our young talents as they expand and gain valuable communications skills, and have fun doing it!  

 

Alexander Brendan Ferguson a graduate of the University of Victoria (B.F.A. in acting).  Alexander is constantly busy acting, teaching and creating sound design for such high profile theatre’s as: The Chemainus Theatre, Charlottetown Festival, Theatre SKAM, Kaleidoscope, Pi Theatre in Vancouver, Blackbird Theatre, and The Gateway Theatre in Richmond.  His Voice training includes work with The Canadian National Voice Intensive with David Smukler. He brings a dedicated passion for musical theatre.

 

Matthew Payne is a founding member of Victoria’s Theatre SKAM and Artistic Producer. He has played numerous roles in SKAM’s 15-year history, which include ‘Louis and Dave’ and ‘Hamlet’, ‘Macbeth’, and others in The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (abridged).  Matthew trained at Malaspina College and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Victoria. Recently completed the Directors Masterclass with training from Peter Hinton, Martha Henry and Josette Bushnell-Mingo.  Previous teaching experiences include Kate Rubin Theatre and Drama Studio, and ArtsReach, whose mission is to send arts professionals into elementary schools to teach their craft.

 Joe McCoy is leading industry professional working as a Director and Actor on stage and screen. He has worked for the Pacific Film & Multi-Media Academy, Canadian College of Performing Arts, and the Screen Actor’s Studio.  Joe is renown for his humour, insight, and absolute passion as an educator for all ages. Credits include: Da Vinci’s Inquest, The Dead Zone”, The Keeper, In the Land of the Blind, Cold Squad and Lola.  He has studied with Larry Silverberg on the Meisner Approach to character development. Recently co-directed Cascadia his first feature-length film, and is currently in pre-production for his next feature, The Promised Land

 Patrick Rundell is a graduate of the American Musical & Dramatic Academy, and is delighted to be joining the KPAS faculty leading the Outreach Program at the Cedar Hill Recreation centre. With Kaleidoscope, Pat grew up taking musical theatre classes with KPAS and appearing with the young company in ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’, ‘Peter Pan’, and ‘Anne of Green Gables’. Recent Victoria credits include: Brad Majors in ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ for Lawyers on Stage Theatre – Kaleidoscope’s annual fundraiser, and CB in Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead for Black Box Productions.

 
Gina McIntsoh has been teaching the joy of acting to kids for more than 20 years!  She has been faculty with KPAS for the past 9 years.  Her honours degree in acting was earned from York University in Toronto.  She has been busy working as a professional actor in Victoria and throughout Canada.  Recently as Grace Bradley in Kaleidoscope’s production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.  Gina has performed with the Belfry Theatre, Bombus Theatre, Itsazoo and with WAVE theatre.  She has also received 3 Monday Magazine ‘M’ Awards as Victoria’s favourite actor.  Her classes are filled with creativity and fun.

 Barbara Poggemiller has been working in Canadian Theatre for over thirty years as a teacher, director, actor and writer. She has taught and directed for the National Theatre School, Montreal’s Concordia University, and Geordie Theatre, and was the Associate Artistic Director for Prairie Theatre Exchange in Winnipeg. In Victoria, she has directed three seasons with the Victoria Shakespeare Society, and recently wrote and directed The Boy Who Learned to Fly for Kaleidoscope Theatre, of which she has been a company member for over 30 years.  Barb is in her tenth year as teacher and director at Canadian College of Performing Arts.
