Charlotte’s Web: The Musical

Kaleidoscope Theatre for Young People is pleased to announce auditions for children (ages 9+) and non-equity adults for our December 2019 production of Charlotte’s Web the musical.

Down on the Zuckerman Farm, Wilbur, an irresistible young pig is determined to avoid the butcher. With the help of his friends (especially the magnificent spider, Charlotte) Wilbur is not only safe, but learns that true friends live in our hearts forever. A beloved family favourite returns for the Holiday Season. The classic story of friendship, based on the book by E.B. White, will warm hearts young and old as it charms its way on stage with lively music, loveable characters, and a pinch of Kaleidoscope magic.

Rehearsals: October through December 2019 – Friday Evenings, Saturday and Sunday

Mandatory Tech Rehearsals: December 22, 23, 27, 2019

Production: December 28-29, 2019 at the McPherson Playhouse

Digital headshots (photos) and resumes (or list of experience) will be required to be submitted as part of booking.

All roles are open for casting.

Audition Requirements

      • Song – Please choose one of the two provided songs from the show. An accompanist will be provided.
      • Side – Please choose one of the provided sides. Sides do not need to memorised (although you should be familiar with your chosen piece).

How to Book Your Audition

  • Auditions will be scheduled in 10-minute slots
  • Young Company will be seen during the morning. Non-equity Adults will be seen in the afternoon
  • Please choose your desired time-slot from the audition booking form
  • You will be required to provide a photo and a list of experiences or resume when booking

Kaleidoscope Theatre holds General Auditions once every two years in our home city of Victoria, BC. Notice of General Auditions and production specific auditions will be posted through Equity’s E-Drive listing and here on our website.

Kaleidoscope Theatre’s MainStage Productions are performed by professional adult actors. Occasionally, there may be a child actor in the cast depending on the production. These children are also professional actors.
